SW WEEK MATCH PREPARATION APRIL 28TH 2013

A long day with the squad at Woodbury Park Golf Club in preparation for the inter county Match week. First off a classroom session on the course with the resident PGA pro, Christian Vine. We talked about key holes, how to play them and what to expect in the way of difficulties.This session was followed up with playing the course under the guidance of Christian and it was very informative.
We proudly donned the new waterproof jackets which were warm and waterproof ! These jackets, which were supplied by Andrew England Golf at a highly discounted price, will remain with the county captain between matches, and will be issued to all the teams when they represent the County. The squad are really pleased to be warm and smart while playing together as a team. Thank you to the executive committee for the agreed expenditure on these essential items. They also now have headbands with the county logo on them, which they have all purchased by the team for their own use.
This team for county match week 2013 will be announced following the presentation of prizes at the County Championships weekend on Sunday 5th May. This team will then go back to Woodbury for some more preparation on the last Sunday in May. The competition for a place in the team is fierce and the last few places will undoubtedly come down to the results of the Championship weekend. It is a tough call, and I know that there will be some disappointment squad members as they have all worked really hard to fulfil the selection criteria which was published at the AGM November 2012.
