Somerset County Senior Ladies’ Golf Association

Welcome to the Somerset County Senior Ladies Golf Association. This means you have reached the young age of 60 years! To be eligible to join this association you must be an existing member of the Somerset Ladies County Golf Association.
The details of the SCSLGA Constitution revised in September 09 can be found here and can be downloaded.
The annual subscription is £3 and this is payable to the Senior Delegate at your golf club. There are 621 senior members as at the end of 2009 which includes 10 Life Members. Membership gives you the opportunity to play in non-qualifying Open meetings (see Senior Competition page for more details) and you may be selected to play in Senior County Matches. The Seniors have a very competitive spirit in both the Open and Match competitions but at the same time have great fun without the pressure of handicap changes. Upon receipt of your membership fees, members will receive a Senior County Card with all relevant details of competitions, matches and meetings.

Each year the South West Shield is awarded to the county with the most points from the matches played between Somerset, Cornwall, Devon and Dorset..

MATCH INFORMATION AND PLAYER SELECTION

The Captain will select 14 players for each team match with reserves from those who have signed the availability sheet displayed at your club at the beginning of each year. The completed list has to be sent back to the Captain by February 10th 2010 and the selection is ready in time for the senior delegates meeting in March. By the end of March you will know if you have been selected for the team or are a reserve. The lists will also be published on the county website. If you tick availability to play a match please keep that date free until you have confirmation of being selected especially if you are on the reserve list.
The match fee for 2010 is £10 per person which includes a meal and the Captain expects people to stay for the meal as there are no refunds if you do not! Transport to and from venues should be shared where possible and make private arrangements for sharing the cost of the petrol.
The team uniform is a white polo shirt with the Senior Logo on it, white sleeve/sleeveless sweater with Logo, Navy blue shorts/trousers/skirt. Anyone playing in the team MUST wear the uniform which is available from the Captain or Secretary
