CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING 1. Eligibility: Full and Junior Members of the Association with an active handicap of 28 or under. 2. The course will normally be open to competitors to practice during the day prior to the start of the meeting. 3. Use of buggies is NOT permitted. 4. Qualifying Round: 18 holes of Medal play. Draw for partners.

5. The 32 best gross scores qualify for subsequent match-play, the first 16 for the Championship, the remaining 16 for the Phillips Trophy. Two rounds of knock-out competitions shall be played each day. 6. An automatic draw shall operate for both these match-play competitions. 7. Holt Shield Team Competition: for the three best nett scores over 18 holes from any one club. (Players must play for their nominated Home Club only). 8. The winner of the Championship holds the Challenge Cup for one year and receives a memento from the Association. The winner of the Phillips Trophy likewise retains it for one year. Prizes are awarded to the runner-up and the semi-finalists in the Championship and to the runner-up in the Phillips Trophy.

DICKINSON & BARLOW CUPS Dickinson (20 & under) Barlow (21-35) Clubs shall hold qualifying Medal rounds to be played in the month of May. Weekend and weekday competitions may be held, but should a player enter both, it will only be the first score that counts. Members are entitled to enter the qualifying competition at their home Club only. The qualifiers shall be those returning the best Nett scores, one in the Silver Division and one in the Bronze Division. Club Secretaries must notify the winners that they have qualified for the Dickinson or Barlow Cup: then, if any of the qualifiers is unable to compete, her place may be filled by the competitor with the next best nett score. The names of the qualifiers must be sent to the Competition Secretary as soon as possible after qualifying, but before the date of the Open County Bowmaker in June at the latest. Any Bronze Division qualifier who subsequently reduces her handicap to 20 or below before the Bronze Meeting shall be eligible to enter for the Barlow Cup playing off her current handicap but shall not be eligible for the Bronze Division prizes. Similarly, any Silver Division qualifier who subsequently has her handicap raised to 21 or over before the Bronze Meeting may play for the Dickinson Cup off current handicap but shall not be eligible for the Silver Division prizes.
GRASS ROOTS CUP (Handicaps 29-36) Cup presented by Miss F.M. Adams for a Medal Round to be played in July OR August. Weekend and weekday competitions may be held but should a player enter both, it will only be the first score that counts. Entry fee to be paid to the County in the preceding November. Names of County members with two best gross scores from each participating club to be sent, with their Medal cards, to the Competition Secretary by 30th September each year. The winner shall have the lowest gross score in relation to the C.S.S. of the course played. Ties to be decided on the last 9, 6, 3 or 1 hole. Prizes awarded to the winner and runner-up.

THE ROGERS CUP Note: A player with a handicap over 30 may play in the team but must play off the limit of 30. This Cup shall be an annual Handicap Knock-out Competition with an upper limit of 30 but no lower limit. A team from any Club affiliated to Somerset may enter and shall consist of 7 players who must be Full County members from their nominated Home Club and who must play in handicap order. The required entry fee must be paid to the Hon. Treasurer of the Association before the draw, which shall take place at the November Executive Committee Meeting. Normally two months shall be allowed for the completion of the 1st Round and one month for each of the subsequent Rounds. An extension of the time allowed for each Round will not normally be granted. Immediately after each match, the result must be notified to the Organising Secretary by the Captain of the winning team. Each round of the Rogers Cup shall be played on a neutral course allocated by the organizing committee after the draw has been made. The top club in each pairing will be responsible for arranging a date acceptable to both teams which may be any day of the week including Sundays. The Final will be on the course allocated when the draw is made and on the date specified by the Organising Secretary. In the event that the allocated course is represented by either team of finalists, a neutral course will be found and, if possible, the specified date will be kept. It shall be the joint responsibility of the Captains, after contacting the host Club, to decide if weather conditions permit play. This decision must be made not less than two hours before the match is due to start. All matches must be played to a finish. Use of Buggies NOT permitted. Handicap allowance full difference.
CENTENARY PLATE Note: If you do not have a player in the 0-20 category you may enter a player with a higher handicap but she must play off 20. This competition shall be an annual Foursomes Knockout. A pair from any Club affiliated to Somerset shall be nominated by their Home Club and must be Full members. One player must be from handicaps 0-20 and one from handicaps 21-35 on the day of each match. The required entry fee must be paid to the Hon. Treasurer of the Association before the Draw which shall take place at the November Executive Meeting. ½ difference between aggregate handicaps of each pair. Normally two months shall be allowed for the completion of the 1st Round and one month for each of the subsequent Rounds. An extension of the time allowed for each Round will not normally be granted. Each round of the Centenary Plate shall be played on a neutral course allocated by the organizing committee after the draw has been made.
