Dear All,
there is a 1st and 2nd team match v Glos Girls on July 18 so do keep playing and practicing all the higher handicappers as it is a wonderful opportunity to gain experience in match play against Glos girls 2nd team.
I would very much encourage all of you with 36 or less handicaps to play in as many of the Junior Opens as possible from now on. Below is a list of all the local ones that I could find (some have already taken place)and you can enter by going to the relevant club website and completing your entry form. They are very cheap indeed and very good fun and a great way to get your handicap down.
Wells 27 th July; Minehead 30th July; Taunton Vale 2nd August; Burnham & Berrow 5th August (including 9 hole or less competition for starters and higher handicappers); Enmore 6th August; Bath 18th August; Farrington 20th August; Orchardleigh 20th August

Sarah Jarrett will let us have details as soon as plans are finalised. In addition, I also plan to expand the 1st team training and coordinate it better with the County Ladies 1st team training. These plans are also well advanced.

Match V Gloucestshire held at Burnham and Berrow Championship course and the Channel course provided the Gloucestershire and Somerset girls with a chance to experience some challenging summer links golf. Gloucestershire put out a strong team and with a number of girls on both sides having little experience of links it was a tightly contested match.
Led by Captain Michaela, Somerset’s more experienced players, Charlotte and Helen recorded hard fought wins with some great low scoring. Claire, Emily and Victoria also continued their winning form.
Four new players were added to the squad for their first appearance for Somerset. Stacie Watts won her first ever game, with Molly Nugent, Gemma Copp and Laura Herbert all fighting well against well matched opponents. Overall a great result played in the best spirit of the game, well done both teams. Full results here
