'Today, Sunday 22nd May, 18 Junior girls (9 from the Squad & Performance section and 9 from the futures) joined their coaches Nick Pope, Carol Pope and Terry Williams for a full days coaching/practice at Cumberwell Park GC.

The morning session was taken up with short game practice followed by lunch.  Tee times had been booked for on course practice in the afternoon on the yellow and red courses.  It just so happened that the Wiltshire CJO (Rebecca Wise) was at Cumberwell with 10 of her junior girls also for practice and Nick and Rebecca decided to combine the afternoon on course practice by forming 3 & 4 ball teams to play a Texas Scramble competition over 9 holes on the red course. This proved to be very successful and was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

The Futures also played a 3 ball Texas Scramble over 6 holes on the yellow course and there are some very good golfing prospects in this group.

It was lovely to be joined by  President, Ellie Harper, in the morning who took a real interest in the short game practice and was introduced to the all girls by Nick.

The weather stayed fine and the practice day proved to be very successful.'
