South West Match Week at Woodbury Park, Devon
24th-28th June 2013

Only one week to go - the full team has been announced, the players have had their practice rounds on the course - all we need now is some good weather- and, more importantly, some supporters to cheer on the teams!
Please try to come down for a day with some of your friends. Woodbury Park is just off the motorway and it deos not take long to get there - between 40 minutes and 1 hour and 4o minutes depending on where you live in Somerset. There will be some excellent golf played. Please wear something green if you can and the Somerset players will know you are rooting for them!

SENIORS MEDAL played at Taunton Vale 17th June -A large field of Senior Ladies enjoyed dry and warm conditions at Taunton Vale for the medal competition. The local support from the club was excellent and thanks go to them all for making the day run so smoothly. There were 4 ladies who managed a two on the par 3 4th hole and 14th hole and congratulations to them. The trophy winners are listed in Results sheet s on Seniors Competition page together with some photos of the day.

DEADLINES:
VACANCIES on the SLCGA Executive Committee: Last date for notifying SLCGA of your interest is 31st August 2013.
There are a number of positions that will be available: EG SW Region representative and Assistant Competitions Secretary. General information can be found here and you can download Job descriptions. The procedure for nomination for each post is on the same page. If you want to know more, please speak to one of the Executive committee, or your delegate, or email the SLCGA President Sally who will pass you on to the right person. ENGLAND GOLF BURSARIES FOR STUDENTS. The Angela Uzielli and Bellamy Bursaries, full details of which can be found on the England Golf website under EWGA Trust. The bursaries are available to young women studying in the UK. A successful Angela Uzielli Bursary applicant is able to study any subject, whereas to qualify for a Bellamy Bursary, the applicant must be learning a golf related subject. Each bursary is worth up to £1,500 per year and can be used to offset the costs of study and books. The closing date for all applications is 1st September 2013.

SOMERSET GOLF PARTNERSHIP ACADEMY will be holding Assessment days for Junior golfers (girls and boys) at different venues during the Summer months. For more details and application forms click here

ORDER OF MERIT -SLCGA Order of Merit 2013. The latest update is here. The rules for the Order of Merit are on the Downloads page under Competitions There is also a Junior Order of Merit which is based on play over/under handicap, details on Junior page and on Downloads.
